Laminated Wooden Scion Wall Art in Flamed Pine

Originally inspired from watching two rivulets of water running down the shower wall, the initial sketches of this piece were crudely drawn in lipstick on the bathroom mirror. Ideas strike when they strike, so it's good to be resourceful.

Featuring laminations of select clear pine, the top has been gently torch flamed to provide the dark espresso color. The bottom is left to natural tones, and a combination of hand rubbed lacquer and wax provide a soft satin finish.

Each piece is cut gradually shorter and offset to produce a gentle curve down each side. Progressively angled ends sweep along the curve, adding a flowing depth that fades into each tip.

Brushed aluminum cylinders mate the two halves into its final scion shape.
